Activities

We combine our workshops, and daily practices, with a variety of activities, places to visit, new sensational discoveries and “out of comfort zone experiences”.

  • For many centuries the Labyrinth has been used as a pathway to spiritual discovery and fulfilment. The Labyrinth is used as a means to enhance prayerful attitudes, intimacy, meditative states, and spiritual focus. It can be used by anyone of any belief system.

  •

  • The Labyrinth at The Edge is an eleven-circuit Labyrinth, similar in design to the Labyrinth in the Chartres Cathedral in France. Our Labyrinth at The Edge has a diameter of 29 meters and a circumference of 91 meters. The length of the pathway is 700 meters, and the total distance of the walk to the centre and out is 1.4 km, making it one of the largest Labyrinths in the world!

  • We practise natural horsemanship and believe in forming trusting partnerships  with our friendly well-trained, easy to ride horses .  Offering a range  of tailor made,  memorable and alternate horse rides for both the experienced and first time rider.

  •

  • Choose an easy or more challenging trail through our beautiful countryside, forests, mountains or the quaint village of Hogsback

  •

  • Terra Khaya is also the ideal place for a big bonfire, where we will do a purification ritual, after our FEAR workshsop.

Horse Trails

  • A visit to the Eco Shrine, an outdoor art gallery, comprising sculptures, mosaics and paintings, in a spectacular setting.

  •

  • Eco Shrine is set on the verge of the indigenous forest in a dramatically beautiful landscape. A place where ecology, art and nature, science and a sense of the sacred could all come together.

  •

  • Visitors are immediately struck by the breath-taking landscape and in it, the sight of large oil paintings displayed in sculpted niches joined by a seemingly flowing, low wall of cement relief. The Eco-shrine looks as if it has always been there.

  • Whilst eating with the villagers, we will be treated to a traditional dance demonstration – complete with traditional dress.

  •

  • This is a community project run by a Belgium/Xhosa couple that hosts an experience where you will have an opportunity to interact,  and exchange ideas with the villagers.

  • The full body massage, is used to support the long-term health and rehabilitative care of individuals and athletes.  Firm but gentle pressure is used with long flowing movements for total relaxation.  Increased circulation and relief of muscle tension are results of this massage.

  •

  • Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing,  and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.  This therapy aims at increasing the life force, giving a feeling of well being and vibrancy.

  • This easy stroll starts in Oak Avenue (opposite the Village Green) and takes you through the arboretum and on to the 39 Steps waterfall.

  •

  • The Arboretum houses trees from around the word, including an 800-year-old Yellowwood in the middle of the forest.

  •

  • There are many benches to stop and relax on, and drink in the peaceful atmosphere, and  abundant life around you, a little further down the walk path is the waterfall
